Why does my performance before I joined seem off?

When you link a brokerage account, Openfolio receives data about your portfolio positions as of the last trading day plus past trading data up to a year depending on your brokerage. We use this data to calculate your performance. So if you signed up today, we can accurately calculate your performance from today to back to the oldest trading day provided by your brokerage. Beyond that, we make assumptions going back to 1 year before you signed up. If you are an active trader, trade options, or if you have not owned certain positions going back as far as 1 year, your performance estimate may be affected.

We know how important it is to provide a complete picture of your portfolio holdings. Any trades from the point you join should be proper reflected in your performance.
